Our Superfood for Dogs range features across all varieties a combination of 65% single, high quality protein sources which are all responsibly sourced from assured producers. In this case, we have chosen barn-reared English Country Ducks raised to the Red Tractor assurance standards ensuring the traceability, food safety and welfare we believe is vital are all in place. Raising the ducks in this way means not only is their welfare enhanced, they also provide better quality meat which not only tastes delicious but also features a nutrient density to healthily nourish your pet.
As per the entire range of whole pet foods this and the fruit & vegetable ingredients are gently cooked in order to retain freshness and goodness resulting in their appealing taste and excellent nutritional profile.
In addition to the easy to digest grain free formula, this tasty food has a very special "little bit extra" in the form of the Superfood blend, which in this case is made up of parsnips, beetroot, orange (of course this classic partner to duck had to be included!), asparagus and pumpkin. Whilst we've no doubt many of the dogs fuelled by whole are furry foodies, it's not only their flavoursome qualities for which we've chosen these ingredients!
Parsnips are rich in several important vitamins - in particular C, K, B9 (folate) and B3 which provide both antioxidant properties linked to multiple health benefits as well as helping to support the energy metabolism pathways which keep your pets full of life! Some studies have suggested that polyacetylenes found in parsnips have properties which can reduce the risk of cancer.
Beetroot is a great source of fibre which is of benefit to the gut, including providing fuel for "friendly bacteria" in the gut microbiome (now known to offer more than just digestive benefits owing to their contribution to the immune system). Minerals, vitamins and antioxidants all add to the special contribution they bring to the mix.
Orange is well known as a rich source of Vitamin C as well as flavonoids which also have multiple benefits including antioxidant properties and links to lower risk of cancer.
Asparagus contributes minerals including iron as well as Vitamin K which supports healthy bone function.
Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A which supports healthy vision, as well as carotenoids and lutein which in addition to helping maintain healthy vision offer the same benefits to skin.
Pumpkins added to our dog food for Vitamin A, carotenoids & lutein to aid vision and skin health
Having completed his growth and just celebrated his first birthday, this has been the first Adult food our own dog Noah has eaten. He is doing really well on it and those of you who follow our social feeds will see he is full of energy and looks in great condition. One of the reasons we chose to go grain free with whole has been his improvement since changing from a leading brand with which I used to work to our product. Whilst he's generally very robust he tended to have a loose stool as often as not and could bring tears to our eyes with his occasional bursts of flatulence! We can happily say he has been so much better since making the change. Is today the day for you to give it a try too?
A happy, healthy Noah - fuelled by Superfood for Dogs from whole
